Puriss p.a. Grade Reagents
Puriss p.a. grade reagents meet the strict standards. The extensive specifications extend beyond those of the ACS (American Chemical Society) or similar requirements and can offer complete safety for particular application. Puriss p.a. grade reagents have low impurity content of metal elements, and the impurity content is controlled at ppb or ppt level, which is suitable for trace analysis field. Generally, the purity of the reagent is usually greater than 98.5%. The commonly used puriss p.a. grade reagents are various including puriss. p.a. grade acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid, sodium hydroxide, acetylacetone, dimethyl sulfoxide and others.
Application fields
Puriss p.a. grade reagents are usually applied in the field of analysis.
Electrochemical detection analysis: Electrochemical detection analysis has the advantages of good selectivity, high sensitivity and low price, which has been widely used in the field of trace analysis. The content of the substance being tested is usually very low, so puriss p.a. grade reagents are usually applied to ensure the accuracy of the test results. For example, the potential stripping method (PSA) can be used to measure the content of Cd in environmental samples, and the flow titration method can detect Fe2+ and the content of Cr6+.
Atomic absorption spectrum: Graphite furnace atomic absorption (GFAAS), electrothermal atomic absorption (ETAAS) and flow injection atomic absorption (FIAAs) are the three most widely used atomic absorption spectra. Electrothermal atomic absorption (ETAAS) has become one of the best Cd measurement technologies, and its detection limit is 0.12pg. In addition, this method is simple, fast and low cost. The pretreatment of the sample has a significant impact on the detection results. For example, the impure water and other reagents can contaminate the samples. Therefore, puriss p.a. grade reagents are required in the atomic absorption spectrum.
Mass spectrometry: Mass spectrometry is also an important detection method, especially in combination with other detection methods to further improve the sensitivity of detection. Puriss p.a. grade reagents can be used in the sample preparation process of mass spectrometry. When mass spectrometry is used in combination with other detection methods, puriss p.a. grade reagents should be the most frequently used reagent in the whole detection system.
Others: In addition to the above several detection methods, puriss p.a. grade reagents are also widely used in other detection methods, including extraction method, ion exchange separation, UV spectrophotometry, ion chromatography and others. Ion exchange separation is a useful tool in the morphological analysis of metals in water environment. This method plays an important role in the valence analysis of chromium. By using anion and cation exchange resin, ion exchange separation can effectively separation and enrichment of Cr3+ and Cr6+, and coupled with effective measuring method, the content of Cr3+ and Cr6+ can be determined respectively. In order to ensure the accuracy of the test results, puriss p.a. grade reagents are necessary in the whole detection process.
